I tried that and it almost worked. Turns out that the problem is that the default entity definitions in the XML CALS table model has the two following lines in it that results in an invalid XML file. Turns out that #PCDATA has to be first in the list in the tbl.entry.mdl entity definition. --- from calstblx.dtd --- <!ENTITY % paracon '#PCDATA'> <!ENTITY % tbl.entry.mdl "(para|warning|caution|note|legend|%paracon ;)*"> Once I reorder the tbl.entry.mdl line to put #PCDATA first, no errors.
