Can anybody tell me the status of the Open Software Description (OSD)
proposal from Microsoft and Marimba? Is this proposal being actively pursued 
by the W3C? What is the process?

I am working on an OMG proposal for CORBA components and am interested 
in using XML, and possibly OSD, for packaging.

Any insights would be appreciated.
